On a beautiful Florida spring day, 20 Gals on the Go members, along with a few neighbors and friends traveled to the Blueberry Bunch Farm in LaBelle. The weather was perfect for picking with a gentle breeze to keep them cool. Berries were easy to reach, as they grow on tall bushes, meaning no deep knee bends were necessary. The farm provided the buckets and harnesses which allowed for two-handed picking! Working in pairs or small groups and chatting along the way, within an hour their buckets were filled.
With blueberries chilling in the respective coolers, the pickers headed to the nearby LaBelle Brewing Company for a delicious meal. Conversation was lively and even a few recipes were exchanged. All agreed it was a successful day and will look forward to a repeat visit next season.
