September brings a subtle change to life in Gateway. The days are still warm, the palm trees are still swaying, and summer is very much with us—but there is a feeling that a new season is just around the corner.

For those of us who call Gateway home, September is a wonderful time to appreciate what makes our community special. Gateway offers more than beautiful neighborhoods and green spaces; it is a place where neighbors become friends, families gather, and there are always opportunities to get involved and enjoy the Southwest Florida lifestyle.

At The Club at Gateway, September also marks an important transition for golf. The summer months provide a quieter opportunity to enjoy the course, work on our games, and prepare for the busier months ahead. With a Tom Fazio-designed golf course and a strong practice and instruction program, the Club remains an important part of the Gateway community and its active lifestyle.

SUMMER PLAYING TIPS

• Stay hydrated before, during, and after your round.

• Take advantage of early morning tee times for cooler temperatures.

• Focus on your short game—just 20 minutes of practice around the green can make a noticeable difference in your scores.

INSTRUCTION SPOTLIGHT

• Whether you’re just getting started or looking to shave a few strokes off your handicap, now is a great time to work on your game. Private lessons and on-course coaching are available, with personalized instruction tailored to your goals.

• The Club at Gateway Performance Center has enhanced our ability to fit members and guests for the clubs they need, and has given us the opportunity to teach at a higher level with video analysis via Trackman. PERFORMANCE CENTER

• Are your clubs holding you back? Of course, September in Florida also reminds us that we are still in hurricane season. It is a good time for all of us to review our emergency plans, check supplies, and make sure we are prepared should severe weather threaten our area. Being prepared is one more way we can look out for ourselves, our families, and our neighbors.

As we move toward fall, there is plenty to look forward to. The days will gradually become more comfortable, activity throughout Gateway will begin to pick up, and our community will once again welcome friends and seasonal residents returning to Southwest Florida.

September is a month to slow down, appreciate where we live, and look ahead to everything the coming season has to offer.

From all of us at The Club at Gateway, we wish our Gateway neighbors a safe, enjoyable, and memorable September. We look forward to seeing you around the community—and, of course, on the golf course!

See you on the course,

Gyles Robin
