Gateway Greens continues to grow more beautiful and welcoming thanks to the ongoing work of the Landscape Committee and GreatView management. Through monthly community-wide inspections and evolving needs with every season change, improvements are reviewed and areas for enhancement are identified to ensure shared spaces are looking their best.
From refreshed entrances to healthier plantings and thoughtful new designs, our landscaping efforts are making a visible difference throughout the community. Below is a look at the improvements recently completed, along with several exciting projects now underway or planned for the near future.
Projects Recently Completed
- Gateway Greens Median Enhancement: Several new Crepe Myrtle trees were added to the median, and many are already starting to bloom! New sod and replacement shrubs and groundcover plants were installed to improve the appearance and health of the landscaping.
- Main Gate Guardhouse Refresh: Plants in and around the guardhouse were updated to create a cleaner, more welcoming first impression for residents and guests as they enter the community.
- Westlinks Drive Hedge Replacement: The aging Viburnum hedge was replaced with Clusia, as many of the shrubs had reached the end of their natural life cycle. Clusia is a fast-growing, dense privacy hedge that works especially well in South Florida.
Projects Coming Soon
- Sod Bed Regrading on Bend Pine Drive: The sod beds along Bend Pine Drive will be adjusted by lowering the ground level to improve drainage and support longer-term turf health. New irrigation lines will also be installed to ensure better watering for the recently planted trees.
- Xeriscape Enhancement Near Kinderland Place: Just past the exit gate in front of Kinderland Place, the narrow community-owned area is being redesigned. The xeriscape landscaping method will be used, which eliminates the need for regular watering by incorporating native, drought-tolerant plants. This approach will create an attractive, low-maintenance, and environmentally friendly appearance.
- Hedge Row Improvements on Westlinks Drive Recent inspections found that multiple sections of hedge and companion plants need to be replaced with sections of Crotons, Copperleaf, and Hibiscus found to be missing or are no longer thriving. New plant materials will restore a fuller and more consistent look along this corridor.
As we continue caring for the health and beauty of our landscaping, Gateway Greens will remain a community we’re all proud to call home.
